NSCN-IM issues arrest warrant against accused in Kizari assault

The NSCN-IM has issued a ‘Warrant of Arrest’ against its personnel Hekugha Chophy who was serving as a Deputy Kilonser. Chophy has been accused of attempted rape and assault against a woman serving in a prayer house in Kizari village under Phek district.

Following condemnation from various organisations, the Ministry of Kilo Affairs has directed the arrest against Chophy “for defiance of national principle and allegiance”. In an appeal letter issued on October 13, the Secretary to GPRN ordered the concerned Caretaker/CAOs of Angami, Chakhesang, Sumi and UT to implement the “Warrant of Arrest” issued on September 26,  2025 (vide Memo No. 61-02/25-26/ARST-WRT/MKA/GPRN).

It directed the personnel to work  in co-ordination with the Naga Army and produce the accused before the Ministry of Kilo Affairs within one week.

Further, the Ministry has also appeals to all the general public/NNPGs not to shelter the accused Hekugha Chophy, stating that “his misdeeds have no place in this civilized society”.

“Any public or NNPGs found sheltering the accused shall be subjugated with heavy liabilities; further the Ministry shall leave no stone unturned to deliver justice for the aggrieved victim,” it asserted.
