In celebration of its 90th anniversary of broadcasting, Akashvani Kohima is organizing the “Voices of the Youth” Folk Song Competition, on October 28 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma. The initiative aims to celebrate the spirit of youth and tradition through folk songs that echo the rich cultural heritage of the land.
The competition will feature 15 groups, each representing the diverse tribes of Nagaland, and comprising youth between the ages of 18-25 years. A special performance by the Tikhir Women Union Kohima will also be featured.

The groups will perform traditional folk songs that represent the unique traditions of their communities, showcasing the diversity and richness of Nagaland’s cultural landscape.
The event is being organized In collaboration with the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) and the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland.
