As India celebrates the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and the Chief Architect of National Integration, a series of events are being organized across the nation to honor his legacy and contribution towards a united India.

Addressing a press conference, Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer announced that as part of the nationwide celebrations, the District Administration of Kiphire will organize a grand ‘Padyatra’ on November 4, as a part Sardar@150.

“The year 2025 marks the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whose statesmanship and commitment to national unity laid the foundation for a united India,” said the Deputy Commissioner. “In this regard, major events are being organized at both national and district levels. The Padyatras across districts will be a key highlight of the celebrations.”

The Kiphire District Padyatra will commence at 9 a.m. from Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire as designated starting point, as notified earlier in the official circular, and will culminate at the DC Office, Kiphire. The march will traverse through the town, where various cultural and thematic programs will be held to celebrate India’s diversity and unity.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all citizens of Kiphire to join the event in large numbers and contribute to its success.

“I request every citizen to participate wholeheartedly. Even if one cannot join the march physically, they can show solidarity by encouraging others to participate and by helping promote the event,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of national unity, Temsuwati emphasized that the Padyatra aims to rekindle the spirit of national integration and inspire the younger generation to uphold the values of unity, integrity, and fraternity.

“This event will be a testament to our belief in India’s strength as a nation of unity in diversity truly reflecting the motto of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, Jai Hind! ” he concluded.
