Nagaland’s first full tarmac rally, Throttle Thrust VII, was officially flagged off today by Atsungba Walling, ADC Mokokchung, at Longmisa Village. The two-day event is organised by the Spearhead Motorsport Initiative (SMI). It brought together rally drivers and motorsport enthusiasts from across Nagaland and the Northeast.
Participants will compete in three categories:
Open Category: ₹60,000, ₹40,000, ₹30,000, ₹20,000, ₹10,000
Below 1300cc Category: ₹40,000, ₹30,000, ₹20,000
SUV Category: ₹30,000, ₹20,000, ₹10,000
The event will continue on November 5, with races starting at 8 a.m., followed by the prize distribution ceremony in the afternoon.
The official flag-off was performed by the Special Guest, Atsungba Walling, ADC Mokokchung.
Atsungba Walling, ADC Mokokchung, lauded the Spearhead Motorsport Initiative (SMI) for successfully organizing Throttle Thrust VII and urged participants to uphold discipline and safety throughout the event.
He reminded the racers, “Let discipline be your strongest companion. Honour the rules and respect your team. Always remember safety protocols — a moment of recklessness can turn excitement into tragedy. Drive smart and let passion and responsibility go hand in hand.”
He further remarked, “Today, we are not merely witnessing a motor rally; we are celebrating courage, discipline, teamwork, and the unyielding spirit of exploration. This rally is more than just machines on wheels — it is the perfect blend of man, machine, and nature in harmonious motion. Every rev of an engine, every trail of dust, and every turn of the open road tells a story of determination, precision, and discipline.”

In his welcome address, Tsubusang Pongen, President of SMI, thanked the Longmisa community for their support and hospitality. He noted that Throttle Thrust VII represents not only competition but also unity, passion, and responsible driving.
Merensosang, Chairman of the Longmisa Village Council, extended a warm welcome to all guests and participants, expressing pride that Longmisa was chosen as the venue for this year’s edition.
A special prayer for the safety and success of the event was led by Amongla, Youth Director, LBC. The ceremony concluded with the flag-off, performed by the Special Guest amid cheers and the roar of engines, officially marking the start of Throttle Thrust VII.
