75th Anniversary of Peren Township commences in Peren Town

Peren: Renowned speaker and pastor of Police Baptist Church Peren, Dr Hiazuheing Ndang, spoke on the importance of unity

The 75th anniversary of the Peren Township celebration commenced today with renowned speaker and pastor of Police Baptist Church Peren, Dr Hiazuheing Ndang, as guest speaker.

Dr Hiazuheing spoke on the importance of unity and urged the gathering to maintain community peace and unity in God’s name, stating that even the weak become strong when it is united.

Unity represents togetherness and being there for each other and it is a must for every solution, he said.

Ndang also advised that everyone must know how to maintain a spiritual relationship with God. The fruit of the spirit is love and love is of God so everyone must know that love is born of God, love is the seed of unity, he stated.

The pastor said Peren people should continue to strive forward physically, spiritually and politically to witness many more successes and progress.

The programme began with an invocation prayer pronounced by Eyingthung Ngullie, the pastor of Lotha Baptist Church, Peren.

The keynote address was delivered by Apeuna Iheilung, the president of Zeliangrong Mipui Organization.

Voice of Calling Peren along with ADC Peren and EAC Peren.

The 75th-anniversary anthem was presented by Voice of Calling Peren. The group had also composed the anthem.

The thanksgiving prayer delivered by Rev Bikau Pame, Former Executive Secretary, ZBA.

The programme concluded with a prayer for Peren town by Rev Fr Thomas K J, the parish priest of St Paul’s Church, Peren.

Later in the evening, an inter-ward choir competition was also held.

On the second day, 16 November, the celebration programme will be graced by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio along with the chief host, UDA Chairman T R Zeliang, and guest of honour, Advisor Namri Nchang.
