The Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services held a farewell ceremony on November 29 to honor two senior officers, Director Dr BM Sunep and Registrar Igumsile, upon their retirement after 35 years of distinguished service. The event, held at the Directorate’s conference hall, was marked by heartfelt tributes and reflections on their enduring legacy.

Dr Imomanen Tzüdir, the Additional Director and incoming Director, presided over the official farewell. Speaking on behalf of the Directorate, he acknowledged the transient nature of public service, stating, “As government servants, we come and we go after rendering our service to the people.”

He extended profound gratitude to the retiring officers for their dedication and specifically thanked their families for the unwavering support that enabled their success.

Dr Tzüdir concluded by affirming that their “legacy of sincerity, devotion, and dedication will remain forever.”

In their outgoing addresses, both Dr Sunep and Registrar Igumsile expressed confidence that the department was in “good hands.” They thanked their colleagues for years of support and reflected on the department’s critical role in sustainability, advising staff to “give their best in everything they do.” They underscored the principle of accountability, noting that drawing a salary without fulfilling one’s duties is wrong—a core value that remains unchanged “even in this AI generation.”
