The Eloe Ekhung of Wokha village organized its Annual General Conference cum Volleyball Tournament on December 15 on the theme “Create Opportunity to Make a Momentum,” aimed at rejuvenating and strengthening the women of the village.
The programme was attended by the women leader of Tchuphyangza Baptist Church, Wokha, Mhalo Yanthan, who delivered the theme address. In her speech, she highlighted the pivotal role of women in shaping families and society, stating that women guided by faith often exhibit greater wisdom and leadership.
She emphasized that sports today go beyond competition, serving as a platform for recreation, building relationships, and fostering unity by setting aside personal differences. Stressing the importance of honesty, she said integrity in sports and daily life is essential for personal and social growth.

She further urged participants to overlook negativity, promote one another, and work collectively towards the progress and development of society through love, unity, and friendship.
The oath of the tournament was administered by General Secretary, Wokha District Volleyball Association (WDVA), Lichumi Ngullie.
A total of six women’s teams from Wokha village are participating in the volleyball tournament, with the finals scheduled to be held on December 16.
