Minister for Health and Family Welfare, P. Paiwang Konyak, graced the 77th Republic Day celebration at Mon Local Ground on Monday, January 26, informed a press release.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister stated that access to healthcare in Nagaland has been significantly expanded and strengthened through the implementation of Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), which together are providing cashless healthcare coverage to thousands of families every year.
He informed that, to date, over 5.78 lakh PM-JAY and CMHIS (General) cards and 1.92 lakh CMHIS (EP) cards have been issued, benefiting more than one lakh individuals, with cumulative claim payouts exceeding ₹450 crore since the inception of the schemes.
The Minister further highlighted that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is transforming healthcare delivery by digitally registering health facilities and healthcare professionals, thereby enhancing access, transparency, and efficiency. He added that preventive healthcare has also been accorded priority, with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to establish a robust food safety ecosystem in the State.

Parade Commander Mankap T Konyak, NPS, Asst. Commandant D Coy 11th NAP (IR) Bn led the 10 contigents imcluding 42 Assam Rifle, Mon, 42 AR Pipe Band, DEF Mon, Village Guards, Ex-Servicemen, NCC, GHSS Mon, DBHSS (Scout & Guides, Mon District Bharat Scout & Guides and 6th NAP Pipe Band.
The minister also handed out the district commendation for cleanest ward award on the occasion.
Following the function, the minister launched the Mon Matti Portal and inaugurated the stalls set up by various departments and SHGs.
MP Rajya Sabha Phangnon Konyak, officials from various departments led by DC and SP, KU, KNSK, KSU, Dobasis and others attended the grand celebration.
