In a bid to promote continuous professional development and ensure a comprehensive learning experience for students, the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has issued a strong appeal to the School Management Committee (SMC) and School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) to put an end to the practice of employing proxy teachers in government schools within the Mokokchung district.

Proxy teaching, where individuals teach in place of regular teachers, has been deemed detrimental to students’ academic progress and hampers the effectiveness of educational programs. Recognising these obstacles, AKM has urged school officials to exercise utmost vigilance and refrain from engaging proxy teachers within their jurisdiction.

Furthermore, AKM has mandated that all employees must obtain prior permission for leave from the appropriate authority and remain at their designated posting places. Unfortunately, the organization has discovered a widespread presence of proxy teachers in various government schools, in violation of government directives.

To ensure the smooth functioning of institutions, AKM has called upon government school teachers-in-charge to maintain diligent records of teachers’ attendance. This measure will assist in identifying and addressing the issue of proxy teaching. Additionally, AKM has emphasized the prompt return of government teachers and staff who are posted in Mokokchung District but not residing in their designated station.

Failure to comply with these directives by the concerned school officials will result in necessary actions being initiated against them, as stated by AKM.
