Amid the land dispute between the Mimi Circle and Laruri-Siitsu, the Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) and Pochury Hoho (PH) has appealed for all concerned to uphold the values of peace and unity as it work collectively toward a constructive solution. Holding a meeting at DUDA Guest House, Kohima on April 4, 2025, the two apex organisations discussed and undertook resolutions.
Expressing deep concern over the recent escalation of the land dispute between Mimi Circle and Laruri-Siitsu, particularly the unfortunate incident that took place on April 28, 2025, the organisations stated, “Such acts of violence are deeply regrettable as it threaten the peace and harmony shared between two communities and pray for the speedy recovery of all the victims.”
At the critical juncture, the PH and YTC jointly appeales to both parties, especially the people of Mimi Circle and Laruri-Siitsu, to exercise utmost restraint and refrain from any form of provocation, intimidation or violence. It also directed the Mimi Circle and Laruri-Siitsu to restrain from any sorts of press release in due regard and restrain from doing any activities in the disputed area.
Both apex organisations acknowledged the ultimatum served by Laruri Development Committee (LDC) and the two village Councils under PAPO whereby both the apex organisations affirmed its commitment to facilitating a joint inspection of the disputed land and to engaging in a fair and transparent process to find a lasting resolution.
