Angami Youth Organisation endorses shutter down of all business establishments called by DCCI, CCCTA, KCCI

Kohima: Common citizens bear brunt of illegal taxation and extortion by NPGs: AYO

The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has extended its support to the indefinite shutter down of all businesses in Dimapur called by Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and the one day shutter down called by the Chümoukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association (CCCTA) and the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

In a press release, President Kesosul Christopher Ltu and Vice President Dievi Yano affirmed its solidarity and cooperation while acknowledging the “serious implications and consequences of illegal taxation and extortion prevailing in our society”.

“… the issue of rampant extortion and unabated illegal taxation by Naga Political Groups (NPGs) and anti-social elements has rendered the business community with untold hardships and difficulties in sustaining their establishments”, the youth organisation stated.

AYO also urged the general public and the business community to support the common cause, “Taking into consideration the menace of illegal taxation and extortion by NPGs and its toll on the common citizens who are ultimately made to bear the brunt of such nefarious activities”.
