Marking the World Environment Day on June 5, the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) will be conducting a cleanliness drive under the theme “Towards Cleaner and Greener Kohima “. The announcement was made during a press conference at the AYO office in Kohima on May 29.

Kedoroko Casavi, Environment Secretary AYO informed that this year AYO will be concentrating on town areas where various colony youths from the town area will be engaged on the world environment day.  Furthermore, he also also mentioned that AYO will be giving out saplings to the colony youths. Around 400 youth volunteers are expected to participate in the drive.

A short program will be held at AYO office at 10 am after which they will proceed towards the town area for the cleanliness drive. In this regard, the Organisation has invited various colony youth organisations and office bearers under the Kohima Municipal Jurisdiction to join them.

The AYO also informed that It will be distributing fruit tree saplings to every colony that participates on the World Environment Day on June 5. The Cleanliness drive will begin from New Reserve colony till High School area.
