An anti-rabies vaccination drive for pets has been set to be conducted across Dimapur District as part of a health initiative by the office of the Chief Veterinary Officer, Dimapur. The drive aims to prevent the spread of rabies, a fatal but preventable disease, through timely vaccination of pets such as dogs and cats. The announcement was made in a circular issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, on 21st October 2024.

The vaccination drive will take place at designated locations within each village, colony, and ward, and pet owners are required to ensure their pets are vaccinated. Chang has requested Colony, Ward, and Village Councils to support the initiative which aims at protecting both pets and the community from the risks of rabies.
