Aspirational district Kiphire allocated ₹ 38.1664 crore under various funding agencies

Kohima: Repair, partial replacement of pipeline for water supply to Phek Town from source to cost over Rs 40 lakh

T R Zeliang, Deputy Chief Minister, Planning & Transformation &National Highways, today informed that a total cost of Rs 3816.64 Lakhs (38.1664 crore) has been allocated from the various funding agencies for the aspirational district, Kiphire. The response was based on an unstarred query raised by MLA, C. Kipili Sangtam.

The details of the funding agencies mentioned were –

  1. NITI Aayog: Rs 1905.31 lakh
  2. Ministry of Skill Development & NEC: Rs 552.76 lakh
  3. Government of Nagaland: Rs 100 lakh
  4. Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR): Rs 958.57 lakh
  5. Tribal affairs Article 275(1): Rs 300 lakh

Zeliang also provided an update on the schemes implemented under the aspirational district schemes:

  1. Two Projects under Tribal Affairs – 2020-2021- GHS Kiphire
  2. Special Corpus Fund (State plan) 22 projects within 2019-20 under Kiphire Hq, Amahator, Pungro Mimi village, Kiusam village and Seyochung.
  3. Transformation of Aspirational district Kiphire under NEC (Three projects under health, tourism and infrastructure)- 2019-20- Kiphire Hq, Seyochung and Pungro sub division.

Sanctioned strength of ASI posts under DEF Nagaland 352 ASI posts with a total number of 172 ASI: Patton

Replying to an unstarred question on Assistant Sub Inspector posts in Nagaland (ASI), raised by Kuzholuzo Nienu, Deputy Chief Minister, Y. Patton stated that “the sanctioned strength of ASI posts under DEF Nagaland was 352 ASI posts with a total number of 172 ASI and the criteria for ASI promotion to the next sub Inspector was 50% by Direct recruitment and 50% by promotion of the available vacancy at a given time”.

In addition, Patton presented the list of the Direct ASI appointees in the police department.

60 CDPOs offices under the Social Welfare Department.

Replying to the NLA member, Er Picto Shohe with regard to the total number of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) offices in the State, Neiphiu Rio Chief Minister and Minister in charge of Social Welfare, informed that there were 60 CDPO offices and further mentioned that proposal has already been sent to the Ministry of Women & Child, Government of India and till date the State has not received any sanctioned for 32/A/C Atoizu.

Status of Water supply in Phek Town

Replying to a query raised by MLA Kuzholuzo Neinu, Minister PHED, Jacob Zhimomi informed that the detailed estimate for repair and partial replacement of main pipeline for water supply to Phek Town from Laka Source amounted to Rs 42,58,000. This estimate, according to Zhimomi, was received by the PHED Directorate on 15 June 2023 which was further forwarded to the Government for further instruction.

Zhimomi maintained that the PHED Directorate was instructed for verification on 21 June 2023 and that following the verification the estimate was received by PHED Directorate on 11July.

Zhimomi further added that after attaining the approval from PHED, the proposal was then forwarded to the State Planning & Transformation on 18 July seeking additional fund.
