Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Kiphire District Cricket Association (KDCA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), organised a Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament at Kiphire from August 6 to 8, aimed at promoting sports, youth engagement and stronger community relations.

The tournament provided a platform for local players and youth to showcase their sporting talent while promoting sportsmanship, healthy competition, teamwork and a spirit of togetherness.

Three teams—Kiphire XI, DC XI and Rising Sun Battalion—participated in the tournament, with each team comprising 16 players. The event was inaugurated in the presence of Longtiba Sangtam, ADC, Kiphire Headquarters, and the Commanding Officer of 30 Assam Rifles.

The participating teams displayed commendable sportsmanship, teamwork and competitive spirit throughout the tournament. Rising Sun Battalion emerged as the champions after a closely contested competition.

The successful conduct of the tournament provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction between Assam Rifles and the local community through sports. The event further strengthened bonds of trust, friendship and mutual cooperation while encouraging young people to pursue sports and maintain a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.

The initiative reflected the shared commitment of Assam Rifles and the local community towards promoting sports, youth participation and a stronger, healthier and more prosperous society.
