The Ao Student’s Union Dimapur (ASUD) has expressed outrage and condemnation regarding the alleged rape and brutal murder of a 35-year-old mother, whose half-naked body was discovered on April 7, 2025, in a forested area near Pimla village under Chümoukedima.
“This heinous act is a stark reminder of the urgent need for societal change and the protection of our women and children. We firmly denounce this barbaric and inhuman crime that has not only robbed a family of their beloved member but has also instilled fear within our community. Such acts of violence are intolerable and must be addressed with the utmost seriousness,” state the ASUD.
It called upon the law enforcement agencies and the government of the state to take immediate action in investigating the case thoroughly and to ensure that justice is served without delay.

“It is imperative that the perpetrator(s) of this crime face exemplary punishment, serving as a deterrent to prevent any future occurrences of such heinous acts in our society. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family during this tragic time. We extend our heartfelt condolences and stand in solidarity with them as they navigate this unimaginable loss,” expressed the Union.
It also affirmed It commitment to advocating for the safety and rights of all individuals in our community. The ASUD further urged everyone to unite against violence and work towards a safer environment for all.
