The Ao Students’ Union Dimapur (ASUD) has expressed deep concern over the recent reports and allegations surrounding irregularities and question paper leaks in the NEET-UG examination process.

In a statement issued by the Union, ASUD described NEET-UG as one of the most competitive examinations in the country, noting that thousands of students from Nagaland invest years of hard work, sacrifice, and discipline in pursuit of medical career.

The union emphasized that for many students, especially those from marginalised and remote regions, success in such examinations represents not only personal achievement but also the hope of social mobility, economic stability, and service to the community.

“Any compromise to the integrity and transparency of the examination process is profoundly disturbing,” it said adding, such incidents undermine the trust and confidence of honest students who prepare tirelessly under challenging circumstances, often with limited access to coaching facilities, educational infrastructure, and resources available elsewhere in the country.

The Union asserted that merit must not be undermined by corruption, manipulation, or systemic negligence, and urged the concerned authorities, including the National Testing Agency and investigative agencies, to conduct a thorough, transparent, and impartial inquiry into the matter and ensure that all those found responsible are held accountable under the law.

The ASUD also appealed to the authorities to safeguard the interests of genuine aspirants and ensure that future examinations are conducted with the highest standards of fairness, accountability, and credibility.

“At a time when students are already burdened with immense academic pressure and uncertainty, institutions entrusted with their future must uphold integrity with utmost seriousness and responsibility,” it stated.
