As part of India’s presidency of the Group of 20 (G20), the Business 20 (B20) Summit will be held in Kohima from 4 to 6th April.
As the official G20 dialogue forum with the global business community, the business summit will see discussions on opportunities for multilateral business partnerships in agriculture, food processing, IT and tourism, a DIPR report informed.
The summit will provide an opportunity for the state to market its potential in agriculture, as almost 60% of the population is engaged in agri and allied sectors, as well as the tourism industry.
Nagaland, known for its rich biodiversity and is gradually making its entry into the organic farming market and efforts are being made to promote organic farming in the state, it stated.
The summit will provide a much-needed international platform for the state to forge partnerships and pursue long-lasting business models needed to boost the state economy.

It may be mentioned that G20 comprises of 19 countries namely Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, United Kingdom, and United States and the European Union.
The G20 members represent around 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of the global trade, and about two-thirds of the world population.
Meanwhile, B20 is the official G20 dialogue forum with the global business community. Established in 2010, B20 is among the most prominent engagement groups in G20, with companies and business organisations as participants.
