The Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS has issued an order stating that the ban imposed on slaughter of pigs, import/export of live pigs/piglets/pork in the Infected Zones and Surveillance Zones (ASF) at Kidima Village, Kohima have been lifted. The ban has been lifted with immediate effect in view of lapse of 3(three) months’ time period since the detection of first case of African Swine Fever and having followed the protocol of ‘National Action Plan’ for Control, Containment and Eradication of ASF laid down by Government of India and with no further report of new outbreak.

However, the DC has also reminded that the public should strictly follow hygiene and bio- security measures and also to remain vigilant and immediately report to the concern authority in case of any unusual sickness or death.
