The SDPDB Bhandari which held its meeting at the conference hall of the Summer House-Cum-Guest House, Bhandari, on August 12 reiterated on the need of Senior Medical Officer at CHC, Bhandari and resolved to pursue the matter through the concerned department.

Medical Officer, Ayush, Dr Lydia, while highlighting on the present status of functioning of the Community Health Centre (CHC) Bhandari, appraised the house that it is functioning without Chief Medical Officer since replacement has not come in place of the transferred officer, further adding that the Centre is also facing shortage of staff. She also stated that a gynaecologist is needed for women who come to the health centre from near and far of the vast sub division.

Dr Lydia informed the house that a programme on sensitization on vector borne diseases was also held recently at Bhandari, under the National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme, (NVBDCP) and apprised that presently there was no reported case relating to vector borne diseases.

Requesting for upgradation of existing 11KV to 33KV power supply, and to maintain equilibrium in demand-and- supply of energy to the public, President, Yanmhon Area Public Organization (YAPO), N Thungdemo Tungoe, through a representation cited that owing to the insufficient capacity of the existing energy supply, 20 villages under Yanmhon area face excessive load shedding and power cuts which also affects over all activities such as households, education, farming, essential services, business and commercial activities.

In response, Additional Deputy commissioner and Vice Chairman SDPDB Bhandari, Longasen Lotha NCS, gave a directive to prepare a rationalization and feasibility report and present it to the house in the upcoming meeting in order to take  up the matter further.

Commending on the successful completion of the Census exercise 2027, he lauded the pro-active role of the Census officials, the departmental officers, CSOs and Bhandari town council for their support. Longasen Lotha also urged the members to carry out assigned duties and to participate in the upcoming Independence Day Celebration with full cooperation.
