Tribal councils will hoist black flags across Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Noklak, Kiphire and Shamator in Eastern Nagaland to show their resentment of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, for not fulfilling its assurances with regard to the creation of Frontier Nagaland Territory.

The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) and tribal councils had at the joint coordination meeting held on 19th March 2024, resolved to suspend the restrictions of the ‘Public Emergency’ in the six districts from today, 21st March 2024. However, the ‘Public Emergency’ will continue, ENPO had said.

In conformity with this resolution, the Chang Khulei Setshang has issued directives on hoisting of black flags at –
