In a move aimed at promoting black pepper cultivation through intercropping with areca nut plantations, the Khutak Valley Organic Producer Company (KVOPC) distributed 30,000 black pepper vines to farmers of Longjang village on May 7 and 8.

The black pepper vines were donated by TN Mannen, MLA and Advisor for Law & Justice and Land Revenue, Government of Nagaland. The initiative seeks to encourage farmers to adopt black pepper cultivation as an additional source of income alongside areca nut farming.
