BLOs to conduct house-to-house verification in Zunheboto from Aug 16

Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Zunheboto, has informed that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would undertake a house-to-house verification exercise as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the Photo Electoral Rolls, as directed by the Election Commission of India.

According to a circular issued by Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Dharam Raj, IAS, the verification drive will be carried out from August 16 to September 14, 2026, during which BLOs would distribute and collect Enumeration Forms (EFs) from electors within their respective polling station areas.

All electors have been requested to keep passport-size photographs ready, as these are mandatory for smooth and timely verification by the BLOs.

The circular further stated that the claims and objections period will be held from September 20 to October 20, 2026, while the hearing and disposal of claims and objections will continue until November 18, 2026, for electors with issues such as mapping errors, anomalies or discrepancies, who may be required to appear before the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) with the necessary documents.

Election Commission of India to ensure the successful conduct of the revision exercise, all Administrative Officers, Village Councils, Village Development Boards (VDBs), Gaon Buras (GBs), Colony Councils, Ward authorities and other concerned stakeholders have been requested to extend full cooperation to the BLOs and help create public awareness. Residents have also been advised to remain available during the house-to-house verification period.

The District Election Officer has appealed to all concerned to render every possible assistance to facilitate the smooth and successful implementation of the Special Intensive Revision 2026.
