Body of IRBN constable found on terrace of Arunachal Civil Secretariat

Itanagar: The police informed that the initial enquiry revealed Gongo had fallen down from the stairs of the third floor

The body of a constable of 1st IRBN deployed at a Sentry post in the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat, Itanagar was found on the terrace of the Secretariat on Saturday.

The police informed that upon receiving a mission report of Constable Roshan Gongo with his service weapon, a team of police rushed to the spot and a search operation was carried out along with the family members and relatives of the missing police personnel.

While checking and analysing CCTV footages of the building, the missing constable was seen entering into the block leaving his son outside the building apparently in a drunken state, The police stated. It added that upon analysing the footages, it further revealed that his son waited for him, and later the constable’s wife took away the son from the spot.

The police informed that the initial enquiry revealed Gongo had fallen down from the stairs of the third floor during his quest for the search of an exit door. The dead body of the personnel was found in the terrace connecting Block-1 and Block-2 building of the secretariat, it said.

It further said that the initial enquiry of the incident suggests for an accidental death case and that a case of unnatural death has been registered in Itanagar PS and investigation is on.
