Can Youth organised a one-day workshop on “Understanding the Role of Youth in Promoting Transparency, Accountability and Leadership Development” on June 19 at The Crete House, Police Colony, Dimapur. The workshop was held on the theme “Informed Youths, Accountable Leaders and Stronger Nations” and brought together students from various schools and colleges across Dimapur and Chumukedima, with the aim of empowering youth to become responsible leaders and active contributors to society.
The programme commenced with an invocation led by Watinaro Pongener, Facilitator of Can Youth. The resource persons for the day were Joshua Liezietsu, an intern of Can Youth from Amity University, Noida alongside Jenpu Rhakho Rongmei, Founder & Chief Functionary of Can Youth.
The workshop brought together 50 participants from various educational institutions including NEISSR, St. Joseph University, Livingstone Foundation International, Lima Aier Higher Secondary School, Diphupar Rongmei Student Union and Youth Ambassadors of Can Youth.

The workshop focused on nurturing leadership skills, teamwork, and youth empowerment among participants. Through interactive sessions, role-plays, group activities, and discussions, on key themes such as unemployment, community development, governance, current affairs, integrity, accountability, self-confidence, decision-making, the importance of empathy and social responsibility.
The workshop concluded with a feedback session during which participants shared their reflections, experiences, and key learning’s from the various sessions conducted throughout the day and expressed the need of the youth space in educational institutes, church and village institutes to nurture the young people for leadership.
