A four day Capacity Building on Meat Production under State Plan 2023-24, sponsored by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Nagaland, Kohima was conducted from 28th May to 31st May 2024 at CVO Conference Hall, Kohima. According to DIPR, altogether 50 progressive farmers from all blocks under Kohima district attended the training.
Dr. llang, Chief A.H & Veterinary Officer, Kohima in his keynote address, emphasised on hygienic meat production for consumption. Resource persons of the programme were Dr. K.Elizabeth Yhome, Dr. Keyolenu Yore, Dr. Thepfudi Shtiya, Dr. Akangnungla and Dr. Ketholenuo Metha.

The topics of the programme were- Scope of Piggery and Poultry in Kohima district, Site Selection. Housing, Selection of Breeds, Care and Management, Feeding, Disease and Health Care, A.I in pigs, Marketing Strategies, etc were imparted. Participants were taken for farm visit on the 3rd day.
The training concluded on 31st May 2024 with Dr. Asangla Jamir, Joint Director handing out participation certificates to participants.
