Capacity building training program on substance abuse prevention for police personnel

Two days capacity building training program on substance abuse prevention for police personnel was launched on February 13. The program was jointly organised by the State level coordinating agency (SLCA) Kripa Foundation and Dimapur Police Commissionerate at Conference hall, DPC.

During the inaugural speech, Kevithuto Sophie, IPS, Commissioner of Police encouraged the trainees to train themselves with dedication so that they may be able to contribute to saving lives of people in their day to day work.

Acknowledging that there are people in the force who have problems with addiction and alcoholism, Sophie noted that this can become a setback to the department, which requires capable people in the force to deal with these problems.

Meanwhile, Abou Mere, Director, Kripa Foundation Nagaland stressed on the need for collective actions for effective implementation harm reduction programs in the state.

The program was attended by 25 participants including including SI, UBI, ABSI, DCP, ADCP, Havaldar, THC.
