CBCMHK youth department ‘Youth Week’ commences

Kohima: During the youth week, six groups will compete and participate in various activities throughout the week

The Youth Department, Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill, Kohima began its ‘Youth Week’ under the theme “Examine your faith” on Tuesday, the Media and Publicity Committee, CBCMHK informed.

On the occasion, Rakodu Nukhu, youth director of CBCMHK, said that each year, youth week is organised to celebrate youth life, one’s faith in Christ as believers, and strengthen Christian brotherhood.

During the youth week, six groups – Bethabara, Bethesda, Bethlehem, Beersheba, Bethel, and Bethany – will compete and participate in various activities throughout the week. The competitions include solo, theme song, Bible Quiz, duet (indigenous), Tenyidie Bible recitation, spelling bee, videography, painting, mobile photography, and essay.

On Wednesday, a debate on one of the most contentious issues, “Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1989” will be held; on Thursday, there will be sports activities in the form of CrossFit – Fittest Men and Fittest Women, fitness race, at the church premise; Saturday’s activities include food court, photo booth, carnival games, exhibition centre etc., after a break on Friday.

Earlier, the Deacon in charge, Zuhunyi Medeo said the invocation while Velukho Nakro led the inaugural service and administered the oath to the youth members.

The youth week will culminate with the NBCC-CBCC youth day of prayer on Sunday.
