The Centre Chakhesang Youth Organisation (CCYO) has directed its village youth organisations to remain prepared for “any eventuality” as its seven-day ultimatum to the State Government is set to expire on October 4.
In a directive issued to its units and the public, CCYO president Dode Nakro said some of the organisation’s demands had been fulfilled, while efforts were continuing to resolve the remaining issues and bring the matter to a “logical conclusion”.
All Village Youth Organisations under the CCYO have been directed to mobilise youth and keep manpower and other resources on standby with immediate effect.
The organisation has also prohibited the entry of outsiders, including personnel of government agencies, into villages under the Centre Chakhesang jurisdiction until further notice. The directive covers Lower Khomi, Middle Khomi, Upper Khomi, Pholami, Gidemi, Sakraba and Porba.
The CCYO warned that anyone entering the specified villages without permission would do so “at their own risk”.

The organisation clarified that there would be no restriction on vehicular movement along the Pfutsero-Phek road or on traditional footpaths, locally known as Rüvücho. However, commuters have been directed not to take photographs or record videos within the CCYO jurisdiction.
It further prohibited all forms of photography and videography within the area, including by residents of Centre Chakhesang. Activities inside traditional villages may not be photographed or videographed without prior authorisation from the CCYO, until further notice.
The CCYO also directed all its office bearers and Village Youth Organisation officials stationed outside the Centre Chakhesang area to return to their respective villages within 48 hours.
The directive comes as the organisation’s seven-day ultimatum to the State Government approaches its October 4 deadline, with the CCYO stating that it would continue efforts to resolve the outstanding issues.
