The Directorate of Census Operations, Nagaland, bid farewell to Dr Zasekuolie Chusi, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Tourism and Land Revenue, who has been relieved of the additional charge of Director of Census Operations, Nagaland, after serving in the position for more than two and a half years.
Speaking at the farewell programme, Dr Chusi expressed gratitude to the officers and staff of the Directorate for their cooperation and dedication during his tenure. He encouraged all officials and staff members to continue working with sincerity and commitment to ensure the successful conduct of Census 2027, emphasizing that an accurate census would play a crucial role in the formulation of government policies and developmental planning for the citizens of Nagaland.
Dr Chusi highlighted several key initiatives undertaken during his tenure, including the organisation of a first-of-its-kind conference for all Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) on census-related matters. He also noted that intensive training programmes had been conducted for Deputy Commissioners and officers of the district administration in preparation for Census 2027.

Incoming Director, Dr Kenei Miachieo, IFS, in his address, described Dr Chusi as a respected senior officer known for his enthusiasm, dynamism, competence, and exceptional organisational skills. He stated that much of the groundwork for Census 2027 had been successfully completed under Dr Chusi’s leadership and added that the focus would now shift towards the field implementation phase.
Speaking on behalf of the staff of the Directorate, Deputy Director, Vikishe Chishi expressed appreciation to Dr Chusi for his exemplary leadership and guidance. He remarked that under Dr Chusi’s stewardship, census-related activities were carried out in a timely and large-scale manner, significantly strengthening preparations for the upcoming Census.
The programme concluded with expressions of gratitude and best wishes for Dr Chusi in his future assignments and responsibilities.
