The Chathe Challenge 2026, a Pickleball initiative aimed at promoting sportsmanship, friendship and community participation, concluded with a closing programme at The Fitness House, Dimapur on September 12.
The closing programme was graced by the Chairman of NSMDC, Kuputo Shohe as the Special Guest, while the programme was chaired by Kakivi Chishi.
Addressing the gathering, Shohe highlighted the importance of sports in promoting discipline, healthy lifestyles, teamwork and lasting friendships among diverse sections of people. He encouraged the players and organisers to continue promoting pickleball and other sporting activities in the State.

The event brought together pickleball players from Kohima, Dimapur and Chumoukedima, providing a platform for sporting competition while strengthening camaraderie among the participants. The tournament carried the theme “Across the Chathe, Together on Court”, highlighting the role of sport in bringing communities together.

The programme also includes, greetings from Lhouvi Punyü, Vice-Captain of the Dimapur-Chumoukedima team, and Keviselhou Sekhose of the Kohima team. This was followed by distribution of prizes to the winners of the tournament.
