Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has expressed grief at the demise of Mayang Lima, former Upa-Lokayukta of Nagaland on October 5.
In a condolence message, Rio stated that Lima was an able lawyer and a committed public servant who served the state Government in various esteemed capacities. Even after his retirement, his dedication to public duty remained unwavering as he continued to serve as the Vigilance Commissioner and later as the Upa Lokayukta, Rio said.
The Chief Minister further stated that Lima’s entry into electoral politics, contesting from the 22-Arkakong Assembly Constituency in 2018, was yet another expression of his passion for serving the people.
Stating that his sudden demise is a great loss to the society, Rio said the void left by his departure would be difficult to fill.
In the moment of grief, Rio and his family extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty God grant them strength and comfort during the difficult time.
IDAN Chairman:
Chairman of IDAN and Advisor to Chief Minister, Abu Metha has also expressed grief at the demise of Mayang Lima, former Upa-Lokayukta of Nagaland.
In a condolence message, Metha said Lima was a respected legal luminary and a dedicated public servant who rendered exemplary service to the State Government in various capacities. His commitment to justice, integrity, and good governance was evident throughout his distinguished career, he added.
In the hour of grief, Metha and his family extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and to all his loved ones and prayed that Almighty God grant them strength, comfort and peace.

NPP:
The National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland expressed deep sorrow and grief at the sudden and tragic demise of Late Mayang Lima Pongen, former District & Sessions Judge and State Upa-Lokayukta, who passed away at Jorhat.
The NPP stated that Mayang Lima was a man of profound wisdom, humility, and integrity and his contributions to the judicial system and his sincere service to the people would be remembered with great respect and admiration.
Stating that his untimely demise is a great loss to the Naga society at large, the NPP led by its President A Nyamnyei Konyak, and colleagues, on behalf of the party, extend their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty grant them comfort and strength during this time ofs orrow.
