Chozuba: Civil organisations says issue was blown out of proportion

The Chozuba Range Public Organization (CRPO), Chozuba Town Women Welfare Society (CTWWS) and Chozuba Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (CTCSU) have advised commuters travelling to or from Zunheboto area to avoid passing through Chozuba town in view of the prevailing sensitive situation due to the 5th September incident.

“Considering the sensitivity of the post-arrest situation in the locality and both the situation being sub-judicial, the concerned local civil bodies found it imperative to serve a travel advisory to the commuters/travellers of Zunheboto area -via- Chozuha Town to avoid this passage as far as possible till the matter is settled both within and outside the court, for the safety of everyone,” CRPO, CTWWS and CTCSU said in a communique to the ADC, Chozuba, Phek district.

The organisations mentioned that a joint meeting was held between them and Chozuba Town Youth Association (CTYA) and public leaders on 7th September 2023 where the incident was discussed. It was also mentioned that the issue was “blown out of proportion” and regretted “communalizing it between the Chakhesang Public Organization and Sumi Hoho”.
