The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) on Friday appealed to the Chakhesang community to refrain from ‘divisive online discourse’ on the issue relating to the incident between Chozuba Town Youth Association and Abel Asumi.
“.. some the discussions on social media platforms have taken an unfortunate turn, leading to misunderstandings and hurtful exchanges,” it stated, informing that CPO is “actively” addressing the matter with Chozuba Range Public Organisation (CRPO). The apex organisation of the Chakhesang tribe also stated that “harmony and cohesion that define our community” can be maintained by desisting to participate in commenting and engaging in such discourse.

The incident that took place in Chozuba Town on 5th September 2023 quickly turned ugly as netizens got involved. The Sumi Hoho, the apex organisation of the Sumi tribe, had earlier written to CPO requesting for immediate intervention.
MLA and Advisor, F&CS and LMCP, KT Sukhalu had on 6th September posted on X (Formerly Twitter) saying that he had spoken to MLA and Advisor CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khomo and that the later had regretted the “unfortunate incident at chozuba.”
“He has directed ADC to arrest the miscreants and also spoke to CPO to take necessary action,” Advisor Sukhalu added in the post that has since been deleted.
