Citizen’s Welfare Pharmacy inaugurated at District Hospital Tuensang

Tuensang: Primary objective of pharmacy is provide life saving medicines to consumers at discounted price

The Citizen’s Welfare Pharmacy was inaugurated at District Hospital Tuensang on Wednesday by Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, NCS, in the presence of staff of DH Tuensang, representatives of Tuensang Town Baptist Pastors Union, presidents of the 15 Wards and President, C-Khel Tuensang Village, Hakushang Ward.

Rutsa, in her speech, congratulated the Medical Superintendent and team for the progress the hospital has been making over the years. She also noted that that with the opening of the Citizen’s Welfare Pharmacy, life saving drugs will be made available within the hospital which will really benefit patients in the need of time when every single minute counts in saving the patient’s life.

Dr Tochi, Nodal Officer (CWP) for Citizen’s Welfare Pharmacy, in his keynote address, mentioned that such an in-house pharmacy had been a long desired dream of the hospital. The primary objective of the pharmacy is to provide medicines to the consumers at discounted price, he added. Dr Tochi informed that with setting up of the pharmacy, other private pharmacies will be dis-empanelled from health insurance scheme with immediate effect as per Government’s directives.

The launching program of the Citizen’s Welfare Pharmacy was chaired by Imlienla, Senior Pharmacist, welcome note was delivered from Noneile, Nursing Superintendent and prayer of dedication was pronounced by Pastor Akhang Chang, President TTBPU. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Puse Liegise, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Tuensang, Benediction was pronounced by Mongsanla, Fellowship in-charge, DH Tuensang.
