Classrooms inaugurated at GHSS Noklak

Noklak: Inaugurating the building, DC Noklak congratulated the Khiamniungan Students Union for taking up the construction of classrooms at GHSS Noklak

The Deputy Commissioner of Noklak, Hiazu Meru, inaugurated the new building of GHSS Noklak constructed by Khiamniungan Students Union (KSU) at GHSS Noklak on 22 August 2022.

Inaugurating the building, Meru congratulated the Khiamniungan Students Union for taking up the construction of classrooms at GHSS Noklak. He said the Union has truly worked for the interest of the students’ welfare which is praiseworthy and a fine example of community participation. He requested the principal, teaching faculty and students of GHSS Noklak to use the facility in the best interests of the student community.

The DC mentioned that the school should understand the participation of the community and the laudable intervention of the Khiamniungan Students’ Union. It is now incumbent upon the school authority and the teaching faculty to give more effort than before to work for the upliftment of the school, he added. Meru also elaborated on the importance of coordination amongst government departments and agencies and encouraged to work as a team for the welfare of the people of Noklak district.

As a part of community participation, the District Planning & Development Board, Noklak had also discussed the poor HSLC 2022 result of GHSS Noklak and had decided to teach maths and science subjects to Class 6-10 which will start from 22 August 2022. Officers with science and maths background with the assistance of NPSC aspirants having background in these two subjects will be volunteers for the special classes.

The president of Khiamniungan Students Union, Shangjiu, in his speech highlighted the project of classroom construction with a sitting capacity of 150 students to the lone GHSS in the district.

Vice President KTC TL Khaoshai, Principal GHSS Noklak Y Khongkhao, and Imkhong Education department, Noklak also expressed their appreciation to the KSU for constructing the new building at GHSS Noklak.

Earlier, Education & Literature Secy. KBCA Munno pronounced the dedicatory prayer of the building. The audit report was presented by KSU finance secretary Nyukshing P Lam. The programme was chaired by KSU Speaker Shingnya while vote of thanks was delivered by GS KSU Pusho P.
