In a joint announcement today, the All Commercial Vehicle Owners’ Associations of Mokokchung, Tuensang, Zunheboto, and Longleng Districts have unanimously decided to impose an indefinite “Chakka Bandh” on all commercial vehicles, effective from 9th October 2023, starting at 5:00 AM. This decision comes after the associations served a 7-day ultimatum to the Nagaland Government, demanding the disbursement/payment of commercial fares incurred during the 2023 NLA Election.
