Community interactions document climate change perspectives in Longleng

Under the ongoing North Eastern Council (NEC), Government of India-funded project on Climate Change Perception, Knowledge and Responses in Tribal Communities of Nagaland, field visits were conducted in Noksosang, Yachem, and Yaongyimchen villages of Longleng district, Nagaland.

During August 18 to 20, Research Assistant, Sediba K Sangtam interacted with local community members to understand their perceptions of climate change, observed environmental changes, traditional knowledge, and coping responses.

The interactions provided valuable insights for the ongoing study by the Department of Environmental Science, Nagaland University. The project is being supervised by Dr Ashutosh Tripathi, Assistant Professor, as PI and Prof Ashutosh Tripathi as Co-PI from the Department of Environmental Science, Nagaland University.
