A group of office-bearers and members of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) and District Congress Committee (DCC), Mokokchung, have submitted their en masse resignation from all party posts as well as the primary membership of the Indian National Congress (INC), citing alleged mismanagement and autocratic functioning of the state leadership.
In a resignation letter addressed to the President of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), the signatories, including NPCC officials, DCC office-bearers, Youth and Mahila Congress leaders, the Chairman of the Minority Department, DCC Mokokchung, the Chief Organiser of Seva Dal, DCC advisors and active executive members, said they were resigning with immediate effect.
The leaders stated that the decision has been necessitated due to continued mismanagement and autocratic functioning of the NPCC Leadership.
According to the letter, the leadership’s actions and decisions over the past several months had created widespread chaos, confusion and divisions among party workers in Mokokchung district. They alleged that instead of strengthening the organisation and upholding democratic principles, the leadership had ignored dedicated Congress workers and fostered an atmosphere of mistrust and factionalism.

The signatories further claimed that the prevailing situation had severely weakened the party in the district, making it impossible for them to continue serving the people with dignity under the present leadership.
They also recalled their loyalty to the Congress during difficult times, stating that they had remained committed to the party’s ideals even when it was “on the verge of extinction” in 2015.
Stating that they could no longer remain silent spectators to what they described as the destruction of the party organisation in Mokokchung and Nagaland, the leaders announced their resignation from all party posts and responsibilities, as well as from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress, with immediate effect.
