Consultative meeting with Census officials held at Aghunato

A consultative meeting was held in the ADC’s office on July 4 with officials from the Census department, town councillors, ward GBs, supervisors, enumerators & community leaders. This was followed by doubt clearing interactive session.

Imkong, Deputy Director Census & Team Leader, highlighted that the Census exercise would be conducted in two phases. Stating that census data will determine future policies and programmes of the government, he stressed on the importance of authentic data collection and called upon the community leaders to cooperate with the census functionaries.

EAC Aghunato in her welcome address briefed the Census officials on the ongoing HLO in the sub-division. She highlighted that Aghunato is divided into 4 Census Charges and a total of 89 Supervisors and Enumerators (including reserve) have been appointed for the census exercise.

She stated that the HLO exercise is proceeding smoothly, and mentioned practical difficulties faced by the census functionaries including poor road connectivity and erratic mobile network. On this, she said that the Office of the ADC Aghunato is working in close coordination with concerned departments while also constantly monitoring the exercise.

Queries pertaining to HLO app and the HLO exercise were also duly clarified by Census officials present.
