The Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, Phek, in collaboration with the Lephori Village Women Society, organised a Consumer Awareness Programme on May 14 at Lephori Village Council Hall, on the theme “Accurate Measurement, Safe Products – Confident Consumers.”
T Aimong, Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, Phek, spoke on consumer’s rights, legal metrology standards and the importance of checking quality certifications such as FSSAI, ISI and Hallmark before purchasing products. He encouraged consumers, especially women, to become informed buyers and active participants in promoting accountability in the marketplace.

Thochusa Katiry who chaired the programme, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of consumer awareness and community participation in ensuring fair trade.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Er. Juwe Pojar, Inspector of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, Phek, who also urged the gathering to spread awareness among the community for a safer and more transparent market environment.
The programme was attended by village leaders, women representatives, GBs and local youths.
