A coordination meeting with all six contesting candidates of the 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency was held on April 7 at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mokokchung.
The meeting was convened following a circular issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Nagaland, in view of the prevailing law and order situation and to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming bye-election.
The discussion focused on the enforcement of the mandatory silence period during the last 48 hours prior to polling.
The meeting was attended by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, the Returning Officer (RO), Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), and all contesting candidates of the constituency.
During the meeting, Ajit Kumar Verma, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Mokokchung, assured the candidates that necessary measures are being put in place to ensure that the bye-election is conducted in a free, fair and peaceful manner.

He also appealed to all candidates, their supporters, and the general public under the 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency to cooperate with the district election machinery and strictly adhere to the provisions of the silence period and the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
