The Chingmei Range Public Organisation (CRPO) has strongly condemned the alleged attempt on the life of Langshc Lomou Chang, a resident of Saddle village in Tuensang district, at Chiechama village in Kohima district on September 16, 2026.

In a statement, the CRPO described the incident as a “highly condemnable” and inhuman act, particularly at a time when Nagas are striving towards building a peaceful and harmonious society.

The organisation said the victim was an innocent labourer and the sole breadwinner of his family, expressing concern over the impact of the incident on his family and livelihood.

The CRPO urged the competent authorities to conduct a fair and impartial investigation into the incident and ensure that justice is delivered in accordance with the relevant provisions of law.

It also appealed to the authorities to provide necessary medical assistance and appropriate restitution to the victim, as deemed necessary, to support his recovery and rehabilitation.

The organisation expressed gratitude to the Chang Union Kohima, Chiechama civil society organisations and law enforcement agencies for their timely intervention following the incident.

The CRPO said it stood in solidarity with the victim and his family and extended prayers for his complete recovery from the injuries sustained and for renewed strength in the days ahead.
