The Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima has invited claims and objections from landowners and individuals whose properties fall within the proposed Right of Way (RoW) of the NH-29A (Pimla Junction–Mhainamtsi stretch) in compliance with an order of the Gauhati High Court.
According to a public notice, the action follows the June 3, 2026 order of the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, in PIL No. 1/2024, directing the Deputy Commissioner to ascertain whether landowners whose lands fall within the proposed Right of Way intend to assert any future claims over such lands and to submit a compliance report before the Court.
Accordingly, all persons claiming any right, title or interest over lands falling within the NH-29A alignment from Pimla Junction to Mhainamtsi in Chümoukedima district have been asked to submit their claims or objections in writing to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner within 30 days from the date of publication of the notice.

The submissions should include the claimant’s name, address and contact details; a description and exact location of the land; the nature of the claim or interest; copies of relevant supporting documents; and a duly executed undertaking stating whether the claimant intends to assert any future rights or claims over the land falling within the proposed Right of Way.
The district administration has advised interested persons to contact the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, during office hours for any clarification regarding the notice.
