In view of the onset of the monsoon season and the increased risk of rockfalls and landslides, the Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima has issued a public advisory for commuters travelling along the NH-29 stretch from Chathe Bridge (Unity Gate) to Tsiedukhru–Khuokhi Bridge, Kukidolong.
The advisory urges all road users to exercise extreme caution, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall and at night, when the likelihood of landslides and falling rocks is higher.
Commuters have been advised to drive with utmost care, especially during heavy rain and nighttime.
Commuters have also be advised to follow traffic diversions and strictly adhere to instructions issued by authorities on-site. The left-hand side (LHS) carriageway of the four-lane highway may be temporarily closed to traffic without prior notice whenever necessary, it advisory said.

It also advised to refrain from circulating or relying on unverified information regarding road conditions or incidents and instead follow official updates issued by the competent authorities.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all commuters and road users to cooperate with the administration and follow safety measures in the interest of public safety.
