Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Peren, Hiazu Meru has informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI), has announced the conduct of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls in a phased manner across 16 States and 3 Union Territories, including Nagaland.
According to the schedule notified by the Commission, the qualifying date for the Special Intensive Revision in Nagaland shall be 01.10.2026. The schedule for the Special Intensive Revision in Nagaland is as follows: Preparation, Training & Printing – 05.08.2026 to 14.08.2026; House-to-House Visits by BLOs – 16.08.2026 to 14.09.2026; Rationalization of Polling Stations – By 14.09.2026; Publication of Draft Electoral Roll – 20.09.2026; Period for Filing Claims & Objections – 20.09.2026 to 20.10.2026; Notice Phase / Disposal of Claims & Objections – 20.09.2026 to 18.11.2026 and Publication of Final Electoral Roll – 22.11.2026

Meru also informed that the Special Intensive Revision is a participative exercise involving electors, political parties and election officials to ensure purity and accuracy of the Electoral Roll. During the revision process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house-to-house verification and collection of relevant electoral information.
In this regard, he has appealed all eligible electors to extend full cooperation to the BLOs during the house-to-house verification process and ensure that their electoral details are accurate and updated.
Further, DC & DEO Peren has requested all recognized political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for each Polling Station to facilitate smooth conduct of the revision process with transparency and active participation.
