Dc Peren notifies on the use of plastic

Peren: In view of the need to eradicate the menace of plastic and the serious environmental and ecological challenges posed by rampant uses of plastics.

DC Peren, Vineet Kumar has issued the following directives for strict compliance across Peren District:

  1. All manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale, and use of carry bag made of virgin or recycled plastic shall not be less than 75 (seventy-five) microns in thickness w.e.f. the 30th September 2022 and 120 (one hundred and twenty) microns in thickness w.e.f. the 31st December 2022. Further, non-woven plastic carry bag shall not be less than 60 grams per square meter (GSM) w.e.f the 30th September 2022.
  2. The manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale, and use of following single-use plastic, including polystyrene and expanded polystyrene, commodities shall be prohibited w.e.f. the 1st July 2022:
  3. Earbuds with plastic sticks, plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags, candy sticks, ice-cream sticks, polystyrene (thermocol) for decorations.
  4. Plates, cups, glasses, cutlery such as forks, spoons, knives, straws, trays, wrapping or packing films around sweet boxes, invitation cards and cigarette packets, plastic or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) banners less than 100 micron, stirrers.

 

All individuals, institutions, and commercial establishments (educational institutions, offices, hotels, shops, restaurants, religious institutions/faith-based institutions, industrial establishments, banquet halls, etc.) and Central and State Government departments/agencies/commissions/PSUs/missions etc. including military/paramilitary in the district are to strictly adhere to the above directions.
