DDMA Dimapur restricts movement of heavy vehicles on NH-29 and NH-02

In view of the prevailing condition of road infrastructure caused by incessant rainfall, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dimapur, has imposed restrictions on the movement of 10-wheeler and other heavy motor vehicles carrying heavy loads beyond the permissible limit on National Highway-29 and National Highway-02 with immediate effect until further orders.

The order, issued by Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, DDMA, Dimapur, Dr Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, stated that the measure has been taken to ensure public safety, prevent traffic congestion, and minimize damage to roads and other public infrastructure.

As per the order, the movement of 10-wheeler vehicles and other heavy vehicles will not be permitted on the notified road stretches during the period of restriction. However, if movement is unavoidable, prior permission must be obtained from the competent authority.

The DDMA has directed the Traffic Police, Police Department, and other enforcement agencies to ensure strict implementation of the order. It also warned that any person found violating the directive will be liable for action under the applicable rules and regulations.

The order will remain in force until further orders, and all concerned vehicle owners, transporters, drivers, and operators have been directed to ensure strict compliance.
