An emergency meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority, Tuensang was convened at DC’s Office Chamber, Tuensang on July 23 to review the impact of continuous rainfall across the District.
In the meeting, the members reviewed the nature of destruction across the District, where reports of property damage, Road blockage and landslides were deliberated upon with no loss of life till date. The DDMA Tuensang apprised the members about the sinking of the District Transport Office located at Post Office Tuensang, where 39 families were relocated for safety concern.

The Deputy Commissioner,Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa also informed that the District Emergency Control Room has been activated at Circuit House and Relief Camp to be activated at the earliest possible time. The DC requested the members to remain vigilant and be responsive to ensure public safety, and assignment of essential commodities was also highlighted in the district.
