A skill development training program for women and girls titled under, ‘Decoupage Workshop’ was jointly organised by the District Administration & District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, Phek District, under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) on the 31st March, 2024. The workshop was held at Town Council Hall, Phek informed DIPR.

John Tsulise Sangtam, DC Phek, gracing the occasion as the special guest, expressed his confidence on the objective of the workshop program, and encouraged the trainees to give sincere dedication during the training program. He also advised them to make the effective use of the skills they received from the resource persons. Additionally, he also urged the trainees to aim for economic independence in the future.

Diethoseno Whiso, Resource person shared on Decoupage, its uses and applicability. She also encouraged the trainees to create a hobby for working. The trainees and participants decoupaged on straw baskets, wooden spoons and Tea coasters.

Vilenuo Kapu, District Mission Coordinator, District Hub Empowerment for Women (DHEW) chaired the programme. Altogether 35 trainees attended the workshop.
